DIY Salon Quality Coiffe: The Sock Bun!

April 26th, 2012 — 9:28am

We were teaching a walking class a couple weeks ago to our lovely assistant & friend Emily. She walked in the door looking like a top model with her perfectly coiffed bun. We asked her secret, and she spilled the beans. It’s a sock bun! We tried it & love it. The Bargain Beauties would never pay top dollar for a snobby salon style. And this one you can achieve on your own. All you need is a sock, a ponytail holder and maybe a few bobby pins for stray hairs. Give it a try! Perfect for bad hair days, if you need to spruce up your look, or to give you a lift!
1. Cut the toe out of a sock
2. Roll the sock down until you create a “sock donut”
4. Put your hair in a pony tail
3. Put the donut around the top of your pony
5. Roll the sock down the pony – tucking your hair inside as you roll
6. Keep rolling until you form the perfect bun

Love. Wear. Return.

April 23rd, 2012 — 12:35pm

As image consultants, one of our favorite tips to share with our clients is to rent designer duds! This is especially helpful when shopping for a gown or party dress since we rarely wear those items more than once or twice anyway. With bridal and prom seasons fast approaching, think about renting rather than buying. The Bargain Beauties hop at local rental shops all acrross the country, but if there isn’t one near you, or you’re seeking a specialty item, try We love their slogan, Love. Wear. Return. Rent The Runway

TJ Love to the Maxx

April 22nd, 2012 — 3:11pm

It’s no secret that The Bargain Beauties ADORE TJ Maxx. We’ve often joked about naming our firstborn TJ and Maxx (wouldn’t that be cute!) but this couple really takes their TJ love to the MAXX!! They met in the shoe section, bonded over bargains and eventually that’s where they tied the knot. LOVE IT! We’ve certainly had our share of “first love” moments among the brightly lit aisles. But we’ve only pined over the product, never the customers. Just had to share this hilarious photo. TJ Maxx wedding!!
